Safe Schools Helpline

November 21, 2005

The Safe Schools Helpline, based in Ohio, serves SAISD as a 24-hour telephone hotline for the secondary campuses of our district. Students, parents, and other concerned citizens may make phone calls to the Helpline to report concerns regarding any middle school or high school campus. SAISD has used the services of the Safe Schools Helpline, which is the largest company of its kind in America, since October 1, 2001.

Callers may remain anonymous during the call. Once the call is made, the information is reported to the district for the purpose of investigation. Anyone with concerns is always welcome to call directly to a campus or the district's administration building; however, some do prefer the option of calling the Helpline so that that their identity will not be known. The Safe School Helpline number, 1-800-4-1-VOICE, ext. 359, is available around the clock for anyone wishing to express a concern or make a report.

Questions or concerns about the Safe School HelplIne may be directed to the Pupil Services Office at 947-5170.
