Students Celebrate Teen Read Week

October 5, 2005

Teens across the nation celebrated Teen Read Week October 16-22, and so did the teens and “tweens” at Lincoln Middle School. Since its inception in 1998, Teen Read Week has focused on the importance of teen recreational reading. Teen Read Week’s objectives are to give teens an opportunity to read for the fun of it, allow teens to select their own reading materials and to help teens get in the habit of reading regularly and often. Drawings were held and prizes of READ bracelets, GET REAL @ your library CD cases, and posters were awarded to Orlondo Aguero, Marisa Alonso, Bradley Castellano, Jose Castillo, Michael Cooper, Toryee Harris, Joseph Hull, Matthew Lara, Truman Madsen, Cruz Moreno, Federico Perales, Israel Sanchez, Mindy Schafer, Joshua Standifer, Whitney Thetford, Brian Vela, and Jonesha Webster. The Lincoln librarian is Karen Rasco.
