SAISD Earns Gold Performance on All Campuses
October 30, 2006
San Angelo ISD has received notification from the Texas Education Agency that all 23 eligible campuses within the district are the recipients of the TEA Gold Performance Acknowledgement. In addition to campus ratings, the district as a whole has earned two gold performance acknowledgements for the first time.
Last year, 20 SAISD campuses attained Gold Performance status, and the district is proud to announce that all campuses have now been added to this distinguished list. (Carver, the alternative campus, is not eligible for this award.)
The Texas legislature enacted the Gold Performance Acknowledgement system in 2001 to recognize districts and campuses for high performance on additional indicators that do not affect accountability ratings. San Angelo ISD and its campuses have worked hard to maintain exceptional, well-rounded instructional programs while faced with the implementation of new statewide education reforms. The Gold Performance Acknowledgement System is one way that the Texas Education Agency recognizes our public schools for the strides they are making in numerous areas that are critical to the academic success of our students, and therefore, to our future.
Both Central and Lake View high schools have been added to the Gold Performance list this year.
Congratulations to all SAISD students, teachers, and administrators on this well-deserved honor.
