Lee Middle School Grants Make-A-Wish

November 3, 2006

The Lee Middle School Student Council has turned a very special wish into a reality for one young lady who lives in the Lee district. Student Council members decided to not only contribute money to the Make -A-Wish Foundation but to actually fulfill an entire wish for a child with a life-threatening medical condition. Sponsor Christina Colwell and her student council members involved the student body and faculty at Lee in special fundraising activities this fall. As a special feature, the Council held a princess tea party for Jordan Ann, who wantsto be a princess when she grows up, providing her with her very own regal formal.

According to Make-A-Wish representatives, this is the first time that a wish has been fulfilled by any group in San Angelo. At their final fundraising event on October 27, Lee Student Council members presented a check for $6, 000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for the expenses of nine-year-old Jordan Ann and her family to travel to Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida, where Jordan Ann hoped to be Disney's Princess-for-a-Day.

Congratulations to Lee Middle School for making history and for making dreams come true!
