Two SAISD Schools Recognized in Texas Monthly Magazine
December 3, 2007
San Angelo ISD is pleased to announce that two campuses were recognized in "The Best Public Schools" section of the December issue of Texas Monthly. The magazine partnered with the National Center for Educational Accountability in determining this year's honorees. The primary indicator was students' performance on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) test.
Santa Rita, previously recognized by the magazine, was honored as a high-performing campus in the subject areas of reading, math, and writing. The Central Freshman Campus was recognized for the first time for higher-than-expected performance in math. CFC Principal Keeva Frazier notes, "When we opened CFC three years ago, one of our goals was to be the best 9th grade campus in the state of Texas. We truly believe we are headed to the top and we are extremely honored with being named one of the Best Public Schools in Texas Monthly."
