Joi Morgan Named as Region XV Regional Teacher of the Year

Joi Morgan, Central High School journalism and photojournalism teacher, has been named the Region XV Regional Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Morgan was selected as the CHS Teacher of the Year in the spring and was then named the SAISD Secondary Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Morgan, who is the yearbook and newspaper advisor in addition to her other teaching duties, was recently honored with a Blue Bell ice cream party at Central and a special recognition ceremony at the Region XV Education Service Center.

Mrs. Morgan is the UIL Journalism coach and Central's UIL Academic Team campus coordinator. She helped lead the UIL Academic Team to the District 3 5-A Championship for the past four years. She is a sustaining member of the Junior League and a Leadership San Angelo alumnus. This is her 29th year in education.
