Van Hoozer Selected as Director of Bond Planning and Construction

San Angelo ISD is pleased to announce that Steve Van Hoozer has been named Director of Bond Planning and Construction. Van Hoozer, a former teacher and principal who has served as Director of Purchasing for seven years, will oversee all phases of bond planning and construction, ensuring that bond projects run as smoothly as possible. Planning is already underway for renovations and new construction that will take place on eleven SAISD campuses.

Van Hoozer has met with architects and contractors to begin determining a realistic timeline. In the next six weeks, architects and principals will meet to walk the campuses to determine which needs will fit into the bond budgets. Santa Rita Elementary is scheduled to be the first campus in the process, followed by Holiman Elementary.

One of Van Hoozer's goals is to be certain the public remains informed. The Bond Election 2008 portion of this website is nowSchool Bond 2008. Information posted there will include project budgets for each campus, minutes from planning meetings, timelines, and construction photos. The bond question feature will remain so that anyone who has a bond-related question may submit it.
