SAISD To Implement New Visitor Screening System
November 24, 2009
San Angelo ISD will soon join thousands of schools across the country in using the V-Soft Visitor Management System and screening technology to help protect students from offenders and provide an extra measure of security during the school day. The district will begin using the V-Soft system on November 30, in preparation for the official start date of January 11, 2010.
SAISD will implement use of the V-Soft system at all Head Start, Elementary, and Middle School campuses. Guests arriving at those campuses may expect a standardized visitor check-in procedure. The main difference that visitors to the campus will notice is that a district staff member will ask for identification for processing purposes. The ID provided will then be scanned using V-Soft technology. Once the visitor is cleared, a specialized badge with a photo will be printed and issued to each approved visitor.
SAISD appreciates everyone's cooperation as the system is implemented. Anyone with questions about the V-Soft system may contact AJ Turner, SAISD Safety Specialist, at 947-3838, ext. 500.
