May 12, 2011

San Angelo ISD has named Reagan Elementary Assistant Principal Rikke Black as the new principal at McGill Elementary for the 2011-12 school year. A native of San Angelo, she earned her bachelor's degree at Angelo State and her master's degree at Sul Ross. Mrs. Black has been employed by San Angelo ISD for the past eighteen years. She served as a behavior management teacher at Crockett Elementary for eight years and as PE coach at McGill Elementary for six years. For the past four years, she has served as assistant principal at Reagan Elementary School. Last year, she was named the TEPSA Assistant Principal of the Year.

"Mrs. Black will be a marvelous fit for the McGill campus. Her strong background in special education will be a gift to the multiple classes of young special needs children at McGill. She taught at McGill several years ago which will be an asset as she takes over the reins of leadership for this Exemplary campus," said Superintendent Dr. Carol Ann Bonds.

Mrs. Black stated, "I am very pleased to return to McGill Elementary and look forward to being the principal."

Mrs. Black and her husband have three children and two grandchildren.
