Assistant Principals Named at Bradford, Reagan, and Glenn
June 23, 2011
San Angelo ISD has announced the assistant principals who will join administrative teams at three campuses.
Jamie Robinson, a San Angelo native and 5th grade teacher at Santa Rita Elementary, will transition to be the new assistant principal at Bradford Elementary. "We believe Mr. Robinson's background in curriculum and successful TAKS experience will be a launching pad for student achievement at Bradford. He brings ten years of teaching experience to the table (eight of those years in TAKS grades), having taught 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades, respectively. He is full of positive energy and is a proven 'kid magnet,'" said Assistant Superintendent Dr. Carl Dethloff. Mr. Robinson stated that he is looking forward to positively impacting an entire campus rather than a grade level.
Tara Flora, a San Angelo native and 1st grade teacher at Belaire Elementary, has accepted the assistant principal position at Reagan Elementary. "Mrs. Flora played a key leadership role in the success of the Belaire campus last spring. She brings a span of knowledge in multiple grade levels (including two TAKS grades) that will be beneficial to student success, said Dr. Dethloff. Mrs. Flora has six years of experience in public education, having served as a teacher for five years at Bradford and Belaire Elementary schools. Additionally, she served one year in an administrative capacity as an assistant principal in Ector County ISD. Mrs. Flora stated, "I am honored to join the Reagan team. They have an exceptional staff and outstanding campus leadership. I look forward to joining them on their path to success."
Raelye Self, a native of Slaton, TX, will become assistant principal at Glenn Middle School, having served in a similar capacity for the past two years at Bradford Elementary. Mrs. Self has taught at Lake View High School in addition to serving as an administrator at Bradford. She stated, "I am looking forward to working with the staff at Glenn." "Mrs. Self will be a valuable addition to the Glenn Middle School team. She brings a stellar work ethic, a keen sense of quality instruction, and a passion for supporting students. Her experience at the high school level, as well as her administrative experience on an elementary campus, will be beneficial to middle school students and staff," Dr. Dethloff said.
