CHS JROTC Wins Top Honors at State Competition

The Central High School JROTC, defending state champions, won the first 1st place title at the Air Force State Drill Competition on October 20 in Arlington, TX.

The cadets competed in 10 areas: uniform inspection, unarmed and armed regulation drill, unarmed and armed exhibition drill, academic competition on the US Constitution, drill with saber, and male and female physical training competition. They captured 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in 8 of the 10 events in which they competed, earning the highest total of any JROTC detachment at the meet.

The Central JROTC is led by instructors Lt Col Raul Lopez, MSgt George Marquez, and Chief Kathleen Prince.
