Pattie Griffin Wins 2013 Commitment to Excellence Award

March 20, 2013

During its annual conference in February, the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO) recognized San Angelo ISD's Pattie Griffin as its 2013 Commitment to Excellence Award winner. Each year, TASBO selects an outstanding TASBO member who demonstrates consistent leadership within the organization and his or her profession. Mrs. Griffin, currently Director of Human Resources at San Angelo ISD, has served on the TASBO Board of Directors and has served a term as President in 2009-2010. She continues to volunteer for TASBO by writing curriculum, sharing best practices, teaching, and serving on committees.

At the district level, Mrs. Griffin has helped to expand the professional development program, expand training opportunities to various departments and levels, and offer compliance training in an electronic format. Her selection as the Commitment to Excellence Winner is based in part on her efforts to enhance student achievement by striving to hire, train, and retain the best employees.

Mrs. Griffin has worked at San Angelo ISD for 28 years, starting as an elementary school library and office aide. She received her BA from Angelo State University and later her Registered Texas School Business Administration certification from TASBO. Active in the community, she volunteers at her church and the Kiwanis Club. She and her husband, Griff, have a daughter and a son-in-law.
