San Angelo ISD Welcomes New Administrators

SAISD is pleased to announce the hiring of two administrators who are new to the district.
Matt Kimball, a former principal in Frisco ISD, has accepted the position of Executive Director of Schools and Instructional Technology. Mr. Kimball and his wife, who are graduates of Abilene Christian University and are familiar with West Texas. He will be working hand in hand with fellow executive directors Stephanie Free and Steve Gill. Mr. Kimball served as a campus principal the past twelve years in Frisco. In 2006 his campus was named a National Blue Ribbon School and achieved Exemplary status for nine out of ten years. He co-facilitated the SAISD Administrators’ Summit two years ago.
Dr. Tonya McDonald, a former principal in Del Rio ISD, will serve as Principal of Fannin Elementary School. Dr. McDonald has experience in the New Mexico Public School system in addition to serving in Texas Public Schools as both a high school and elementary school principal. During her tenure in her previous district, she was asked to take over an elementary school campus when it was under school improvement and monitored by the Texas Education Agency. Under her leadership, the campus attained an exemplary rating in just three years, despite being 90% economically disadvantaged.
