To participate, children may simply show up at a program site during the scheduled times. Children do not have to be classified as economically disadvantaged to participate, and there is no paperwork to complete. Adults may purchase a breakfast for $1.75 and a lunch for $3.00 a meal.
Funding for the summer feeding program comes from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Texas Department of Agriculture. This will be the 22nd year that San Angelo ISD has participated in offering summer meals. Last year, the district served over 14,000 breakfasts and approximately 25,000 lunches.
