Summer Meal Program Feeds Kids for Free
May 27, 2016
Our children need nutritious meals to learn, grow and thrive—even when school is out. With the Summer Food Service Program, children and teens ages 18 and younger can continue to eat healthy throughout the summer at no cost, just by showing up at a participating meal site. Free meals will be available starting June 1 at participating sites throughout San Angelo.

To participate, children may simply show up at a program site during the scheduled times. Children do not have to be classified as economically disadvantaged to participate, and there is no paperwork to complete. Adults may purchase a breakfast for $1.75 and a lunch for $3.00 a meal.
Funding for the summer feeding program comes from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Texas Department of Agriculture. This will be the 23rd year that San Angelo ISD has participated in offering summer meals. Last year, the district served over 14,000 breakfasts and approximately 25,000 lunches.
