Central's Campbell Named Region 15 Secondary Teacher of the Year
July 28, 2016
Central High School's Deborah Campbell has been named the Region 15 Secondary Teacher of the Year. Ms. Campbell, who has taught for twenty years, all with San Angelo ISD, was selected as the Central High School Teacher of the Year in the spring. She was named the SAISD Secondary Teacher of the Year during the district’s annual ceremony in April.
Graduating as valedictorian of her high school class, Ms. Campbell holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Angelo State University. She is currently the Credit Recovery Lab Lead Teacher and Program Coordinator at Central High, a job she has held since 2006. Over the years, her classroom has been a place of success for many students who needed to get back on track for graduation.
A champion for both students and teachers, Ms. Campbell is one of twenty regional secondary teachers vying for the State Secondary Teacher of the Year title. This fall, three finalists will be selected and interviewed by the Texas Association of Secondary Administrators prior to naming the state recipient.
Congratulations to Ms. Campbell on this incredible honor and good luck in the next round of competition!
