Elementary Meet the Teacher
San Angelo ISD elementary schools will be holding their annual "Meet the Teacher" events prior to the first day of school. "Meet the Teacher" is a chance for students and parents to get their class assignments, meet their teachers, drop off school supplies, and visit their classrooms. Dates and times vary from campus to campus. Please click the link below for more information.
Secondary Campuses to Host Back to School Events
San Angelo ISD middle and high schools, including Glenn Middle School, Lincoln Middle School, Lone Star Middle School, Central High School on Oakes, Central High School, Lake View High School, PAYS and Carver Learning Center, will be holding their annual “Schedule Pick-Up and Form Verification” back to school events on the following dates and times. “Schedule Pick-Up and Form Verification” is a chance for students and parents to get their class assignments (if registered), pick up their Smart Tag ID, and tour their campus. School Supply Lists
Free and Reduced Meal Applications
During the COVID-19 pandemic, San Angelo ISD provided free meals to all students, regardless of income eligibility, with support from federal funding authorized by the United States Congress. This federal funding has ended and SAISD returned to charging for lunches last school year. Through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), families who qualify will still be eligible to receive a free or reduced lunch meal for their student during the upcoming school year by completing this short, online application. Fill out your application today!

San Angelo ISD Back To School Giveaway Photo Submissions
San Angelo ISD is excited to announce a fun, back to school giveaway in celebration of the first day of the school year this Thursday, August 17, 2023, and our commitment to growing the hopes and dreams of our students! Three recipients will be randomly selected to each receive one of three baskets. This giveaway was made possible through partnerships with Ultimate Air Trampoline Park, Kona Ice of San Angelo, Tea2Go Tea’Nergy, Ocotillo Boutique, Cookie Joy of San Angelo, Old Central Firehouse Pizzeria and Gandy Ink. Details on the giveaway, what’s included in each basket and how to participate are provided at the link below.
Registration
Registration can be completed from any web browser or smartphone. Parents can digitally upload required registration documents such as birth certificate, proof of address, social security card, and immunization records in PDF, JPEG, and other standard file formats.

Safer Schools
San Angelo ISD administrators delivered a report on School Safety addressing ways SAISD is working to make our schools safer this school year including completion of a Summer Targeted Partial Safety Audit and Exterior Door Safety Audit, collaborative Safety and Security Meetings with local law enforcement, Goodfellow representatives and community leaders, and Behavioral Threat Assessment training for administrators on all campuses. The report includes a status of District Safety Initiatives and resources like Care Solace and StayALERT anonymous reporting. Watch an excerpt from the report below.
Safety Resources
SAISD uses a uniform Standard Response Protocol (SRP) for drills and incidents to rationally organize tactics for response to weather events, fires, accidents, intruders and other threats to personal safety. SRP works with a specific vocabulary with five specific actions that can be performed during an incident: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate and Shelter. The StayALERT School Safety Program is a 24/7 bilingual reporting program designed to help provide a safer school environment. Report bullying, vandalism, drugs and alcohol, unsafe or violent behavior, harassment, weapons, teacher/student conflict, or other safety concerns.
