Three Cheers for your Ears!

Your ears take care of you, so take care of them. Be careful with your ears by wearing earplugs at loud music concerts and when you are around noisy machinery. Make sure and keep the volume down on your stereo, especially if you are in the car or wearing your headphones.

Please don’t put anything in your ears, especially cotton swabs. All your ears need is to be washed regularly, so wash them with soap and water while you’re taking your shower or bath.

Facts on Earwax

Even though earwax seems yucky, it serves a purpose. Your ear canal makes earwax to protect the ear. Earwax contains chemicals that fight off infections that could hurt the skin inside the ear canal. It also collects dirt to help keep the ear canal clean.

What Kids can do to Prevent Ear Infections:

  • Stay away from people who have colds, if possible.
  • Wash your hands regularly.
  • Try not to touch your nose and eyes.
  • Stay clear of colds and those pesky germs out of your ears!
