San Angelo ISD offers two different investment options for retirement purposes: 403(b) and 457. Employees may participate in one or both plans and may make an initial deferral election or change an existing deferral election at any time during the year. 403(b) Annuity Plans

First Financial Group of America is the district's third party administrator to assist the district's Human Resources staff with compliance of the 403b and 457 investment plans. An account manager assigned specifically to SAISD is available to assist employees with information on supplemental insurance plans and flexible spending accounts. Please refer to First Financial Administrators’ website for SAISD’s plan information such as: approved vendors, summary of options, due dates, forms, SAISD’s Retirement Specialist name, phone number and email address.

Teacher Retirement System of Texas
The Teacher Retirement System administers a defined benefit retirement plan that is a qualified pension trust under Section 401(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. The pension trust fund provides service and disability retirement, as well as death and survivor benefits, to eligible Texas public education employees and their beneficiaries.
Retirement benefits are financed by member and state contributions, and through investment earnings of the pension trust fund.
