2007-2008 SAISD Compensation Plans

The 2007-2008 compensation plans include the following:

Teacher Job Family(current employees in the Teacher Job Family)

  • $1,500 general pay increase for all employees in the Teacher Job Family

Clerical/Paraprofessional, Manual Trades and Information Technology Job Families

  • 2% pay range adjustment
  • 4% of mid-point general pay increase

Head Start Job Family

  • 1.25% pay range adjustment
  • 2.5% of mid-point general pay increase
  • It is anticipated that the Head Start grant will allow a 1.5% cost of living adjustment in October or November

Administrative/Professional Job Family

  • 1.5% pay range adjustment
  • 3% of mid-point general pay increase

Temporary/Seasonal/Extra-Duty

  • Changes based on federal minimum wage increase
  • Miscellaneous changes

Teacher Hiring Schedule (for new employees in the Teacher Job Family)

  • Starting teacher pay increased to $35,000
  • Increases for each year of experience

Pay Range Adjustments

The percentage pay range adjustment is applied to each pay grade and increases the minimum, mid-point and maximum in each box.

General Pay Increase

To calculate the general pay increase (GPI): multiply the mid-point by the GPI percentage. This dollar amount is the GPI for all positions in that particular pay grade. Note: Employees with a pay rate above the pay grade maximum receive half of the general pay increase for their job family.
