Santa Rita Project:
The bid has been finalized at $2.1 million plus $75,000 for abatement. The overall budget for this project is $2.7 million. JC Roberts Construction from Midland is the contractor for this project. As a result of a very good bid, work to the cafeteria, a new roof, and some other improvements will be made. Work will begin June 1 with the office and restroom phase completed by August 15, 2009. The rest of the project will be completed in phases as shown on the Santa Rita map. Completion of the project is due in August of 2010. Phase 1A will be this summer, Phase 1B will be in the fall, Phase 2 will begin about January 1, 2010, and Phase 3 will be in March, 2010. Phase 4 is work in the cafeteria and it will occur over the summer of 2009 and 2010. A copy of the phasing plan is included on this page for review.
Waldrop Construction from Brownwood has been hired as the Construction Manager At-Risk for this project. They are currently working with Gary Donaldson to develop budgets and construction options for the project. Guaranteed Maximum Price is due in July with construction to begin in August/September. The overall budget for this project is $6.9 million. Completion of the project is expected in December, 2010. Meetings with the principal and SAISD staff are ongoing. A portable building housing two classrooms has been purchased to be delivered this summer. A copy of the schematic design is included on this page for review.
Templeton Construction from San Angelo has been hired as the Construction Manager At-Risk for this project. They are currently working with Mike King of Huckabee Architects to develop budget and construction options for the project. Guaranteed Maximum Price is due in early fall with construction to begin in November, 2009. The overall budget for this project is $14.1 million. Completion of this project is expected in December 2011. Contractor will relocate portables on campus this summer to be ready for construction phase later in the year. The overall budget for this project is $8.9 million. We will be recommending a Construction Manager At-Risk for the project on May 18. They will begin working with Gary Donaldson to develop budget and construction options. Portables will be relocated this summer to prepare the area for construction to begin around the first of 2010. San Jacinto Project:
The overall budget for this project is $6.7 million. I have had an initial meeting with Skip Gregonis, architect, and his firm is working on the site plan. We anticipate a bid date no later than the first week of November but may be able to move ahead on this schedule.
The overall budget for this project is $47.5 million. The RFP for Construction Manager At-Risk is on the street at this time and we will open the proposals on May 28. A recommendation is expected at the June Board Meeting. Planning is well underway with several meetings taking place between architects, campus staff, and administration staff. This project is expected to begin in June of 2010 with a completion date near the end of 2012.
