SAISD Names Assistant Superintendent

Matthew Kimball has accepted the position of Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Professional Development. Kimball, who currently serves as Executive Director of Schools and Instructional Technology, holds a bachelor of science degree from Abilene Christian University and a Master’s in Education from Texas Woman’s University. He has completed doctoral course work through Texas A&M Commerce and his dissertation is in progress. Prior to joining the SAISD administrative team, Mr. Kimball served as a campus principal for twelve years in Frisco ISD, where he spearheaded instructional technology initiatives. In 2006, his campus was named a National Blue Ribbon School. Under his leadership, his campus achieved Exemplary status for eleven out of twelve years.
As an SAISD administrator, Kimball has been highly involved with principal supervision. His campuses include Glenmore Elementary, which received the highest honors bestowed as a TEA Rewards School; Lee Middle School, which was selected as one of three schools in the nation for the George W. Bush Institute’s Middle School Matters initiative, and Santa Rita Elementary, which was named a National Blue Ribbon School in 2014. He has been involved with the Texas Principal’s Visioning Institute in addition to being a presenter at national and state conferences.
Kimball and his wife Jennifer have been married twenty-three years and have a son and a daughter.
He will begin his new assignment with SAISD July 1.
