Coach Hague Named Swim Coach of the Year

Central High School swim teacher David Hague was named the Texas 6A Swim Coach of the Year by TISCA, the Texas Interscholastic Swimming Coach Association.
Coach Hague, a native of Rhode Island, began working for SAISD in 1978. During the past 38 years, he has guided his teams to 29 district championships and 2 regional championships. His wife Val, an art teacher at Central, has been his assistant coach for the past 16 years. Their sons, John and James, were state qualifiers for the Bobcats swim team. John recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, and James is finishing his sophomore year at Texas Tech.
