Roxanne Fentress Named CTE Director

Mrs. Roxanne Fentress will serve as San Angelo ISD’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Director replacing Mrs. Joy Gay, who is retiring at the end of December 2019. 

Mrs. Fentress has 21 years of experience as an educator. Prior to being named CTE Director, Mrs. Fentress served SAISD for six years as a high school teacher and Secondary Instructional Coach. Mrs. Fentress came to SAISD from Copperas Cove ISD where she served as CTE Coordinator. 

“My goal for our CTE programs is to expose students to courses that can lead to career opportunities and industry certifications when they graduate high school,” Fentress said. “Our students need skills to be  successful in high-wage, in-demand careers.  Our CTE programs offer students those skills and I look forward to increasing opportunities for our students.”

A native of West Texas, Mrs. Fentress holds a Bachelor’s degree from Texas State University and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas in Austin. 

Mrs. Fentress begins her new role on January 6, 2020.
