Brooks Wehner with KFW Architects provided an update on bond construction progress during the April 20, 2026 Regular Board Meeting.

Fannin Elementary School

• The project has reached the 65% design phase, with plans recently submitted to the city.
• The project remains on schedule based on current timelines.
• New playground concepts were introduced for consideration, including:
  • Interactive climbing features designed to encourage active play.
  • Design elements aligned with the school’s colors (blue and gold).
  • The playground design is not yet finalized and is still under review.
  • Costs are expected to remain consistent with playgrounds at other campuses.

Lake View High School

• Bids have been received for the new concession building, with board action scheduled.
• The project includes a new concession and ticketing facility featuring:
  • Ticket booth at the front entrance
  • Concession serving areas
  • Restrooms
  • Officials’ dressing areas
• The building will use energy-efficient materials with integrated insulation.
• This project is part of broader athletics upgrades at Lake View, including:
  • Turf replacements for baseball and softball fields
  • Track resurfacing
  • Improvements to the football/soccer field
  • New lighting and additional seating
  • Expanded parking near the athletic facilities
• The new concession facility is separate from the existing portable building used for student meals, which remains in use.
