Bond Construction Update – June 8, 2026

RJ Lopez with Parkhill Architects provided an update on 2025 Bond construction progress during the June 8, 2026 Preagenda Board Meeting. Project timelines remain on schedule, with several projects continuing through design, bidding and early construction phases.

Crockett Elementary

  • Crockett Elementary continues to move quickly toward completion.
  • Crews are working on painting, finish work and interior touch-ups.
  • Windows for the cafeteria have arrived, allowing that portion of the project to continue moving forward.
  • Exterior work and brick work are progressing, and crews have started work on drives and approaches outside the building.
  • The project remains on track to be ready for students and teachers by August 1.

McGill Elementary

  • McGill Elementary is progressing smoothly.
  • Utility work is underway at the campus.
  • Crews are building up the pad for the new additions.
  • Work has started on concrete footings and preparation for the concrete foundations.

Glenn Middle School

  • The new Glenn Middle School project remains on schedule.
  • Parkhill is finalizing construction documents for the project.
  • The construction documents are expected to go to Lee Lewis for bidding in June.
  • A Guaranteed Maximum Price, or GMP, is expected to be presented in July.

Lake View High School

  • Lake View High School is also expected to come back to the Board in July for a GMP.
  • The project is continuing through the planning and preconstruction process.
  • Several major bond projects are expected to move into construction in August.

Central High School

  • Construction activity has begun at Central High School with the water line relocation project.
  • The existing water line is being rerouted so that an active city water line will no longer run beneath existing campus buildings.
  • The water line relocation route has been dug, pipe has been placed, and crews are working on covering the pipe.
  • The work began a little more than a week before the meeting and is already slightly ahead of schedule.
  • The early start helps keep the overall Central High School project moving on schedule.

Additional Updates

  • Project timelines continue to align with the original bond schedule.
  • The district’s bond project dashboard is helping provide timeline information and answer questions from the community.
  • Bond-related activity is also taking place across multiple athletic fields throughout the district.
