Bond Construction Update – May 11, 2026

During the May 11 preagenda board meeting, RJ Lopez with Parkhill Architects provided the Board of Trustees with an update on progress across San Angelo ISD’s 2025 Bond projects. 

Crockett Elementary School

  • Exterior brick work is nearing completion on the kitchen and classroom addition areas.
  • Crews continue enclosing the new cafeteria portion of the project.
  • Interior work is underway, including ductwork, mechanical systems, and installation of kitchen freezer and cooler equipment.
  • The project remains on track for an August 2026 opening.

McGill Elementary School

  • Site clearing and preparation work continues as crews prepare for new additions.
  • Updated renderings were shared showing the future library and administrative addition.
  • Additional renderings highlighted the planned classroom expansion areas.
  • Construction remains on schedule as the project moves into the next phase.

Glenn Middle School

  • Design teams continue refining construction documents ahead of bidding.
  • Updated exterior renderings were presented showing continued development of campus materials, landscaping, and sidewalks.
  • Architects are working to finalize details before the project moves into the bidding phase.

Lake View High School

  • The Lake View High School additions and renovations project is expected to go out for bid in the coming weeks.
  • Bids are anticipated over the summer, with construction expected to begin around August.

Central High School

  • Updated exterior renderings were shared for the additions and renovations project.
  • Designs included concepts for the new student entry, auditorium frontage, cafeteria connection, and gymnasium area.
  • Design teams continue refining exterior materials, colors, and site details.
  • The underground water line project remains scheduled to begin this summer.
  • Major construction could begin later this fall.

Bond Financial Dashboard

  • District leaders announced that the new Bond Financial Dashboard is now available through the SAISD 2025 Bond website.
  • The dashboard provides updates on project budgets, spending progress, and bond package information for the community.
