Brooks Wehner with KFW Architects provided an update on two Bond 2025 projects during the May 18 Regular Board Meeting: the Lake View High School concession building and Fannin Elementary School.

Lake View High School Concession Building

• Lee Lewis Construction has been approved as the contractor for the Lake View High School concession building project.
• The project plans have been submitted for permitting.
• The contractor is beginning mobilization, with construction fencing expected to go up soon.
• KFW Architects is working with the City of San Angelo through the permitting process and responding to any questions.
• Construction progress is expected to begin shortly after mobilization.
• Updated renderings were shared showing the concession building with additional visual details to help bring the project concept to life.

Fannin Elementary School

• KFW Architects shared updated renderings of the planned 12-classroom addition and playground area at Fannin Elementary School.
• The design includes a large covered overhang at the building exit, providing a transition area from the classroom addition toward the playground and existing sport court.
• The project team is working to complete drawings and construction documents by May 29.
• Once complete, the documents will be turned over to Lee Lewis Construction for pricing and permitting.
• A guaranteed maximum price is expected shortly after the May 29 deadline.
• Construction is expected to begin during the summer, with site work anticipated shortly after July 4.
• The project is expected to take approximately 12 to 12 and a half months, with the goal of having the addition ready by August 2027.
• The design takes into account the elevation changes on the Fannin Elementary site, including monumental stairs, limestone block seating areas, ramps and other accessible pathways.
• KFW Architects and Lee Lewis Construction have been meeting regularly to coordinate construction planning and campus logistics for the project.
