Bond Construction Update – September 21, 2026

Hector Santiago of Parkhill provided an update on Bond 2025 construction projects during the San Angelo ISD Board of Trustees meeting on Sept. 21, 2026. He reported that the overall construction timeline remains on track.

Crockett Elementary School

  • The new cafeteria and kitchen have received a certificate of occupancy. The classroom addition received its certificate before the school year began.
  • Crews are addressing remaining punch list items and preparing documentation to close out the project.

McGill Elementary School

  • Structural steel and metal decking are complete in both construction areas.
  • Metal stud framing was nearing completion in Area A. Framing and electrical work are next in Area B, where some mechanical work has begun.
  • The overall project is scheduled for completion in June 2027. Santiago said he expects Area A to be completed around January or February 2027 and will follow up with the contractor on that timeline.

New Glenn Middle School

  • The plans remain under City review. The design team has responded to the first round of comments, and a site permit has been issued.
  • The site permit allows some work to begin while the remaining building permits are processed. A notice to proceed with construction has not yet been issued.
  • Students are using the practice fields near the stadium while the field west of Glenn is within the construction area.

Lake View High School

  • The portable buildings and overall project site plan have received permit approval, allowing work on site to begin.
  • Plumbing and electrical inspections have been requested for the portables.
  • Site clearing and demolition of concrete sidewalks have begun near the planned Mariachi building.

Central High School

  • The construction manager received bids, and a guaranteed maximum price was presented for the board’s consideration at the meeting. Project plans have been submitted for review.
  • Preparatory work, including water line work, was completed over the summer while students were away from campus.
  • The planned gymnasium will have a capacity of 2,200.
