San Angelo ISD is proud to announce Central High School senior student and 4th-year JROTC cadet Isabella Febres was awarded on November 3, 2020 the highest honor in Junior Reserve Officers Training Corp (JROTC) - the Gold Valor Award. The Gold Valor Award recognizes the most outstanding voluntary acts of self-sacrifice and personal bravery by a cadet involving conspicuous risk of life above and beyond the call of duty.
Due to the spike in COVID-19 cases in our community and in conjunction with local health officials, the difficult decision has been made to restrict attendance capacity to 2,500 attendees for the Central High School versus Odessa Permian High School football game this Friday night, November 20, 2020.
Beginning today, we are opening the window for two weeks to allow parents to switch instructional models for the 3rd 9-week grading period. Families will have the opportunity to switch between in-person instruction and the Virtual Academy through Monday, December 1, 2020.
Starting Monday, November 16, 2020, San Angelo ISD will open the window for two weeks only to switch instructional models effective for the next 9-week grading period that begins on January 5, 2021. The last day to opt to switch will be Tuesday, December 1, 2020.
San Angelo ISD is hiring substitute teachers! As an incentive, beginning December 1, substitute teachers who work at least 10 full days a month will be paid at the higher long-term substitute rate of $140 per day for certified teachers or $110 per day for Non-Certified teachers.
