Partners in Education (PIE)

Audience: All San Angelo Area Families & Students

In partnership with the United Way of the Concho Valley, this free community event supports back-to-school readiness. Partners sign up to provide specific school supplies and are encouraged to include promotional items.

San Angelo READS! is the district’s community-wide literacy initiative designed to promote the importance of reading and inspire a lifelong love of literacy in students.

Through generous community sponsorships, San Angelo ISD provides a free, grade-level book giveaway each month during the school year, ensuring every student in that grade receives a brand-new book to take home and keep.

We are grateful for the community partners who help make San Angelo READS! book giveaways possible each year. This year’s sponsors include:

• October – 1st Grade: Atmos Energy

• February – 4th Grade: Texas Trust Gives Foundation & Texas Trust Credit Union
• March – 5th Grade: Open Sponsorship Opportunity
• April – Pre-K: Howard College

Availability varies by school year. Sponsorship opportunities are updated annually, and additional openings may become available. If you’re interested in sponsoring a future grade level or month, we encourage you to reach out.

Community partners who sponsor a grade-level book giveaway:

• 📖 Help place books directly into the hands of students
• 📚 Support literacy at scale across San Angelo ISD
• 📣 Receive recognition through San Angelo ISD communications
• 🎤 Are invited to send a representative to read the featured book aloud to the sponsored grade level, creating a meaningful and memorable connection with students

Participation in the read-aloud opportunity is optional and coordinated through the Communications Department.

Sponsorship availability varies by grade level and month and may change year to year.

Audience: Elementary Students

Join our literacy initiative by reading a book aloud to an elementary classroom. This opportunity allows community partners to engage directly with students and help foster a love of reading at an early age.

A meaningful and memorable way to support literacy and connect with future-ready learners.

Audience: Elementary Campuses

Some of our elementary schools are still in need of Little Free Libraries in front of their campus. Consider sponsoring or installing a library to promote reading and accessibility for young students in your community.

Timing: End of July
Audience: New SAISD Employees (80–120 expected)

This fun, tailgate-style welcome event connects new team members with community support. You're welcome to distribute items, set up a welcoming space, or simply greet and celebrate our new staff members.
 

Timing: October
Audience: All SAISD Staff

Support our amazing staff with information, products, or services related to physical and mental wellness during our annual Staff Wellness Fair. This is a great way to promote your organization while contributing to the well-being of local educators.

Timing: Early May
Audience: All Staff

Officially proclaimed by the Mayor, this day honors every SAISD employee making a difference – from teachers to transportation. Adopt a school or department and deliver treats, thank-you notes or small gifts. We’ll recognize your contribution publicly, and you can even share the moment on social media.

Do you offer a special discount, promotion, or freebie for educators during Teacher Appreciation Week or throughout the year? San Angelo ISD welcomes local businesses and organizations to share educator appreciation discounts as a way to support and celebrate our teachers and staff

This free event highlights SAISD’s bilingual program and connects families with local resources. Community partners are invited to set up a table, distribute giveaways and share helpful information with attendees.

Frequency: Varies by campus
Audience: Elementary, middle, and high school students

San Angelo ISD welcomes community partners to participate in campus Career Days and career exploration events throughout the school year. These events help students learn about different industries, career pathways, and the skills needed for future success.

Community partners may:

• Share information about their career field or industry
• Talk with students about education and training pathways
• Inspire students by connecting classroom learning to real-world careers

Participation is coordinated with campus staff, and opportunities vary by grade level and campus needs.
