When are teachers available? Are they still working regular hours?

We have asked teachers to schedule time each day to have a virtual presence. However, if your student desires more virtual time with his or her teacher, you can ask your student’s teacher to schedule a time directly with the student.

What can parents do for students who cannot complete the assignments within the required week? Who can they talk to for assistance?

Teachers will have assignments ready on Monday to ensure students have the flexibility to complete those during the upcoming week. All assignments are due the following Monday. If your student is struggling to complete an assignment in the given week, please contact your student’s teacher for assistance.

If my student is struggling through virtual learning, who can they reach out to for help?

If your student is struggling, please contact your student’s teachers, campus, or the Curriculum and Instruction team for assistance.

Will students be held back due to virtual learning if they do not do well?

Our goal is to ensure all students have the opportunity to move forward to the next grade level. Students will receive intervention support if they need assistance when they move to the next grade level.

Does virtual learning end with the academic calendar year?

Virtual learning will adhere to our academic calendar year - the last day of school remains May 29th.

If I am having issues with access to Google Classroom, who do I contact for assistance?

Please contact your student’s teacher for assistance with access to google classroom.

Any update on delivering educational programs through Channel 4?

We are looking into this further, updates to come.

How do I log my child into Google Classroom?

Please contact your student’s teachers for assistance with access to Google Classroom.

Will Students be given access to Microsoft products?

Your students have access to Microsoft products through their Google account.

Where do we access log-in information for virtual learning?

Please contact your student’s campus or teacher for information on how to access the virtual learning platform.

Devices and Internet Access

If students have any issues with technology, who can they contact?

Our Technology Department is available Monday through Friday from 8 am - 4 pm to assist you with technical issues, find out more information by clicking here.

Have the devices given by the Police Department been distributed?

These WiFi HotSpots have been distributed to students who need access to the internet and do not have internet access at home. If you still need access to a device or internet, please contact your student’s campus for assistance.

If I need help with devices or Google Classroom setup, who do I call?

If you want to get a device back to San Angelo ISD because you no longer need it, who do you contact?

I have an Amazon Kindle, and I am having trouble logging my child in, what should I do?

Please contact your student’s campus for assistance on access to devices. Our Technology Department is also available to troubleshoot any issues you have.

What happens if the internet goes down in the home?

Please contact your student’s teachers if you are experiencing problems with the internet at home, so they are aware. If the internet becomes a consistent issue, please contact your student’s campus to request access to WiFi or access the internet through one of our WiFi buses.

If you have multiple children, can you get access to a Chromebook per child or is it one per household?

Can students access the virtual learning platform from their cell phones?

Students can access the virtual learning platform from their cell phones.

Attendance

How will attendance be counted if students cannot attend a zoom meeting?

As long as students are checking in through zoom or posting a question on Google Classroom, your student’s attendance will count. If they are not available to complete his or her work weekly, please contact your student’s teacher to determine an alternative.

Counseling

Can students who are struggling through being away from the campus utilize campus counselors for assistance?

Item Pick-Up

How can students in athletics get items from their lockers?

Please contact your student’s campus for instructions and times to gather student’s items.

How can students get school supplies left on campuses?

We are working on a distribution plan for the week of May 18th. Information will be going out in a few weeks from campus principals about this.

How can parents pick up any medication left on campuses?
