New Substitutes

Application Process

  1. Complete the substitute teacher online application. Click here to proceed to the online application
  2. After your application is reviewed, you will receive an email from the Human Resources Department. Please allow up to 7 business days to process your application.  
  3. Attend substitute orientation. A registration link will be sent via email.
  4. Complete the fingerprinting process as required by the State of Texas. A fingerprint FAST PASS and instructions will be sent to the email provided in the job application. The cost for fingerprints is approximately $50.00. 
  5. Sign the Substitute Job Description.
  6. Sign the Retire-Rehire Acknowledgement if retired from the Teacher Retirement System (TRS).
  7. Please check your email frequently as you will be notified of your next steps during the process. Please also check your spam, junk or clutter as well.  
  8. Access your district email account and complete required onboarding documents.
  9. Schedule a New Employee Orientation to receive your district identification badge.
