Returning Substitutes

Application Process

no break in employment

  1. Register for and attend a substitute orientation session by completing this form. Substitutes will not be called from Human Resources. All substitutes must register on the google form. Registration must be completed 24 hours in advance of all substitute orientations. 
  2. Sign the Substitute Job Description (emailed after orientation).
  3. Sign the Retire-Rehire Acknowledgement if retired from the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) (emailed after orientation).
  4. Access Employee Access Center and sign the SAISD eHandbook Receipt.
  5. Procure an identification badge for an SAISD Substitute, if needed.

  1. Complete an online application for substitute teacher. Click here to proceed to the online application. You must use Internet Explorer to complete the application.
  2. Register for and attend a substitute orientation session by completing this form.  Substitutes will not be called from Human Resources. All substitutes must register on the google form. Registration must be completed 24 hours in advance of all substitute orientations. 
  3. Sign the Substitute Job Description (emailed after orientation).
  4. Sign the Retire-Rehire Acknowledgement if retired from the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) (emailed after orientation).
  5. Please check your email frequently as you will be notified of your next steps during the process. Please also check your spam, junk or clutter as well.  
  6. Access your district email account and complete required onboarding documents.
  7. Schedule a New Employee Orientation to receive your district identification badge.
