Superintendent
Dr. Christopher Moran is in his 33rd year in public education and leads with the belief that every student is blessed with gifts and abilities that have value. He joined San Angelo ISD in January 2024 and is completing his 14th year as a school superintendent, previously serving in Whitehouse ISD for eight years and Brownsboro ISD for five. Prior to that, he served as a high school principal for eleven years at Clear Lake and Whitehouse High Schools. His career is defined by transparent communication, hands-on leadership, and prioritizing student learning.
Dr. Moran was named the Region 7 Superintendent of the Year in 2019 and will lead the Texas Association of School Administrators as president for the 2025-26 school year. He has served on the TEA Commissioner’s Cabinet and enthusiastically advocates for all students.
Dr. Moran received his undergraduate degree from Evangel University, his graduate degree from The University of Texas at Tyler, and his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2005. He has also received post-doctoral training through the Lamar University Center for Executive Leadership and the Southern Methodist University District Leadership Fellows.
Dr. Moran has been married to Christa Moran for 30 years, is a proud father to four children and a grandfather of two.
