Superintendent
Dr. Christopher Moran is in his 32nd year in education and leads with the belief that every student is blessed with gifts and abilities that have value. He joined San Angelo ISD in January 2024 with 12 years of experience as a school superintendent in Whitehouse ISD and Brownsboro ISD. Prior to that, he served as a high school principal for 11 years at Clear Lake and Whitehouse High Schools. His career is defined by transparent communication, hands-on leadership and prioritizing academics first.
Dr. Moran was named the Region 7 Superintendent of the Year in 2019 and currently serves as Vice-President of the Texas Association of School Administrators. He is a tireless advocate for all students and has high academic expectations.
Dr. Moran received his undergraduate degree from Evangel University and his graduate degree from The University of Texas at Tyler. He earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2005. He has also received Post-Doctoral training through the Lamar University Center for Executive Leadership and the SMU District Leadership Fellows.
Dr. Moran is married to Christa Moran and is a proud father to four children, Rebekah, Elisabeth, Susanna, and David, and a grandfather of two.
