Superintendent
Dr. Carl Dethloff became the SAISD Superintendent on July 1, 2015.
Dr. Dethloff served in San Angelo ISD for six years as the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Professional Development.
Prior to coming to San Angelo, Dr. Dethloff served as principal of three different campuses in College Station, garnering such awards as the Texas Business and Education Coalition Honor Roll and the Texas Monthly Top Performing Schools in Texas award, while leading two campuses to a Texas Education Agency exemplary rating.
Under his leadership, SAISD was invited to join the Future Ready Superintendent’s Leadership Network (FSLRN) as well as the Texas Public Accountability Consortium (TPAC).
Dr. Dethloff holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree from Austin College in Sherman, TX. He earned his doctorate at Texas A&M University.
Dr. Dethloff is a member of First United Methodist Church, where he serves on the Board of Trustees. He is also a member of the following committees: Military Affairs Committee, Equity Center Board of Directors, Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) Leadership Development Committee, N2 Learning Superintendent Advisory Panel, West Texas Rehab Center, United Way, West Texas Training Center, Chamber of Commerce – ex-officio, Texas School Alliance (TSA) board member.
He and his wife, Judy, have two daughters, Abbey - a graduate of SAISD, and Caroline - who attends high school in SAISD.
