About SAISD

San Angelo Independent School District operates 17 elementary schools, three middle schools, one freshman campus, two high schools and two alternative campuses. SAISD has approximately 2000 employees serving more than 14,500 students.

The mission of San Angelo ISD is to engage all students in a relevant and inspiring education that produces future-ready graduates.

Leading organizations and employers want creative colleagues who can collaborate, think critically, and communicate well. Our goal is to present graduates who will find postsecondary success, because we focus on building these important skills, as well as a firm foundation for literacy, math, history and science.

SAISD students continue to excel both in the classroom and in UIL competition.  Students have earned state honors in academics, music, debate, and athletics at all levels.

Highlights include Lake View High School’s JROTC CyberPatriot team advancing to State and National competition, multiple all-state band and choir musicians, Central High School’s Robotics Team advancing to State competition, and the UIL Academic Team winning the academic district championship 9 years in a row! San Angelo ISD is also home to the nationally ranked Central High School Speech and Debate team, back-to-back National Champion Bobcat Cheerleaders, and the defending 6A State Champion Gymnastics Team. Career tech students from both high schools compete at the highest levels and earn industry certifications and dual credit for college.

San Angelo is committed to delivering a meaningful, engaging, effective, and high-quality learning culture for students and staff alike. We work diligently to enhance student learning and reduce achievement gaps, and continue to celebrate all the ways students are smart
