Child Nutrition Updates for 2020-2021 School Year

Child Nutrition Updates for 2020-2021 School Year

Please read this important update from the San Angelo ISD Child Nutrition department in full as it contains important school nutrition information and updates for the 2020-2021 school year. Information specific to Virtual Academy students is also included.

New App

San Angelo ISD Child Nutrition is now utilizing a new one-stop app for managing your student's cafeteria account needs.  The new app called SchoolCafé replaces MySchoolBucks which was used in previous years. With SchoolCafé, families can make payments, view purchase history, and receive low balance alerts. For your convenience, families can also set up automatic payments to replenish your students cafeteria fund. Visit www.schoolcafe.com/sanangeloisd to create an account prior to the first day of school.  All you will need is your student(s) ID number. If you do not know your students ID number, please contact their campus. You can download the app on your smartphone or device from either the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. Please note that if you had a balance from the former payment system, these balances have already been rolled into the new system.

Free and Reduced Price Meal Applications

SAISD students have access to the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program. As always, the school breakfast program is free for all students and the school lunch program uses eligibility to determine if students qualify for free or reduced price meals. Beginning this school year, families can now apply for free and reduced priced meals at www.schoolcafe.com/sanangeloisd or from within the SchoolCafé app. If you have any questions on how to qualify for free or reduced price meals, please contact our Child Nutrition department at (325) 659-3615.

Virtual Academy Students

Students enrolled in the SAISD Virtual Academy will also have access to meal services. All SAISD Virtual Academy students must show attendance daily to qualify for meal services.

We are finalizing the process for SAISD Virtual Academy students to register and pick-up school meals and will release more specific information soon.
