SAISD Alum Congressman Pfluger to Play in Congressional Baseball Game Tonight, July 28th

U.S. Representative for Texas’s 11th congressional district and homegrown San Angelo ISD alum August Pfluger will take the field for charity tonight, July 28, 2022 for the Congressional Baseball Game in Washington DC at 6:05 pm CST. The annual bipartisan game, played at Washington Nationals Park, is a tradition where Democrats play against Republicans in a baseball game for charity. Charities are estimated to receive a minimum of $1.7 million from this year’s game.

An alum of SAISD Central High School, Pfluger played baseball his sophomore, junior and senior year for the Bobcats in various positions including short stop, pitcher and catcher. In tonight’s game, he is expected to pitch, and will sport both a Central High School and Lake View High School baseball cap at times in support of students and schools in the congressional district he represents. This is his second Congressional Baseball Game. The game will be broadcast nationally by both Fox Sports and C-Span. First pitch is 7:05 PM EDT, 6:05 PM CST.

SAISD is proud of our former students, and the ways that they contribute to our community, state, and nation. We send well wishes to Congressman Pfluger for the game! Sic ‘em Cats and Go Chiefs!
