SAISD, Community Partners Celebrate 5th Annual Difference Maker Day

Following an official declaration from Tom Thompson and the San Angelo City Council earlier in the week, San Angelo ISD joined community partners to celebrate the 5th annual “SAISD Difference Maker Day” on May 8 — a day dedicated to honoring more than 1,800 staff members who make a difference in the lives of more than 12,000 students each and every day. 

Throughout the day, more than 30 community partner organizations and businesses helped celebrate the occasion, showing their appreciation for San Angelo ISD educators and staff in meaningful ways. Each partner supported a campus or department by providing treats or tokens of appreciation, while some adopted multiple campuses or provided items for staff districtwide – a reflection of the strong support SAISD employees receive from the community they serve.

From classrooms to cafeterias, buses to front offices, the day served as a reminder that every role in San Angelo ISD plays a part in student success. In total, more than 1,800 staff members across more than 30 campuses and departments were recognized for their hard work, dedication and daily impact on students.

The celebration extended beyond campus walls as well, with numerous local businesses offering special discounts and promotions for educators during Teacher Appreciation Week – further highlighting the community’s commitment to recognizing those who serve students every day.
