San Angelo ISD thanks our students, families, staff, and community for your ongoing partnership in keeping our schools safe throughout this school year. Together, and with the support and direction of our Board of Trustees, we successfully opened our schools on time in the fall and continue to educate our students in a safe environment. We remain committed to providing a relevant and inspiring education for our students in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
After careful and thoughtful consideration of recent guidance from the Texas Education Agency (TEA), the Center for Disease Control (CDC), local health officials and community partners, SAISD will maintain all current health and safety protocols through the last 9-weeks of the school year. This includes the mask requirement for 4th grade and up, with masks being highly recommended for our students 3rd grade and younger. SAISD Athletics will also continue the use of masks for activities and athletic venues, but will review athletic event venue capacities for possible increases. We ask that you continue to follow social distancing guidelines at all SAISD facilities and events.
SAISD will continue to evaluate our health and safety protocols weekly for possible modifications as we move forward. As employees and families receive the vaccine, we will monitor virus transmission rates in our schools, classrooms, and the San Angelo community to guide future decisions. The health and safety of our students and staff remains our guiding priority. We appreciate your continued support and understanding.
