San Angelo ISD Elementary Teacher Named Finalist for H-E-B Excellence in Education Teacher Award

San Angelo ISD is excited to announce that Veronica Stapper, a 2nd-grade teacher at Glenmore Elementary, has been named a finalist for the H-E-B Excellence in Education Teacher Award. The Excellence in Education awards are designed to honor and thank outstanding public school professionals for their dedication and commitment to the students in their area.

On March 4, Mrs. Stapper was surprised in her classroom by H-E-B representatives and H-E-Buddy as well as San Angelo ISD administrators and principals. Mrs. Stapper was nominated for the Lifetime Achievement Award, which salutes teachers with more than 20 years experience. For being named a finalist, Mrs. Stapper received a check for $1,000 and a $1,000-grant for Glenmore. She will go on to compete against four other Texas teachers for the title of 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award winner. If selected, Mrs. Stapper will receive $25,000 in cash and a $25,000-grant for her school.

We congratulate Mrs. Stapper on receiving such a prestigious recognition and wish her the best of luck in the next round. To stay up-to-date on San Angelo ISD, please visit the SAISD website at www.saisd.org and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
